Surrounded by his loving family, Frank passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Friday January 3rd 2020. He will be missed dearly by his loving family and friends. The cherished husband of 48 years to his beloved Elisabetta Assisi and beloved father of his two sons Nick and Peter. He is now reunited with his predeceased family: Mother Maria Assisi, Father Nicola Assisi, Brother Joe Assisi and sisters Isabella Galati and Elisabetta Alcaro.
Born in Borgia Catanzaro Italy, Frank immigrated to Canada at the age of 8 years old with his father, mother and brother and sister. Frank was proud of his Italian heritage but was also a proud Canadian Citizen. At the age of 26 Frank travelled back home to visit family with his brother Joe. He fell in love with Elisabetta and were married a year later. They had two boys Nick and Peter for whom he was a wonderful caring father who was always there for his children. He worked 29 years for American Standard as a castor and was one of the most accurate and fastest castors in the plant. He was well respected by his fellow co-workers and he was elected to the union as recording secretary.
Frank was a modest man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He lived his life following the Christian faith and as such lived a humble life. He based his decisions on common sense. He enjoyed sitting in his backyard and working around the house. He obtained an electronics diploma and enjoyed film making and editing. He loved filming and producing wedding videos. He collected cameras and video cameras. He always wanted to learn about new things and understand how they were made. His favourite singer was Johnny Cash, which inspired him to play guitar and play the organ. You would always hear him sing in the house some lines from Johnny Cash songs.
His wife Elisabetta and sons Nick and Peter will forever hold him in their hearts.
