Elena passed in the same way in which she lived the last few years of her life…in peace and grace. God called our loving mother on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, having lived 95 very full years. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Pasquale Sarra and was the most loving Mother of Gina and Rina. She was the completely devoted Nonna of Alexandra, Paul, Marc and Lawrence and she always held Dino Raponi and Walter Rea close to her heart.

And such an enormous heart! She will always be remembered for her maternal and nurturing nature and she did, in fact, play a large role during the early years of most of her nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and of course her four treasured grandchildren. She was a nurturer in every way and embraced everyone with greatest affection, having hugs and kisses for everyone. There was never any time for herself and she did and gave to others to the best of her ability and beyond, often making sacrifices for the sake of others and never asking for anything in return. There are few people as altruistic as Elena has been in her life.
We will remember Elena in her apron, preparing a meal for many, sitting at her sewing machine making clothing for everyone, beside Pasquale as he built their house, and the of course with her arms around her grandchildren, hugging them with tears in her eyes…no matter what age they were. Tears for everyone, often uncontrollable…her way of saying I love you, you have a special place in my heart…And such an enormous heart!
She was extremely proud of her treasured grandchildren and they gave her great joy through the years. Elena will be especially missed by her daughters. Her strength and willingness to make their lives easier was a very special gift that will always be held in their hearts.
We will be forever thankful for having been gifted with this wonderful Mom, Nonna, Zia, and Amica. She has been the finest example of graciousness, kindness, strength, and generosity of spirit and she will be forever loved by many.
